I was born in Rockland, Maine in March of 1950 and raised on the Maine coast and in Vermont. I graduated from the University of Maine, Orono in 1972 with a degree in Art. My work career was spent at the Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine building ships for the US Navy. I have a strong interest in American history, which now that I am painting seriously, I have combined with my love of ships and the sea.

I also enjoy painting still life and landscapes.

For me the greatest joy is imagining a scene or a particular vision and bringing it to life as convincingly as possible.
